IB ACIO Executive Syllabus 2025

IB ACIO Executive Syllabus 2025: The IB ACIO exam is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The purpose of this exam is to recruit Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIO Grade-II/Executive).

ACIO selection process is of three stages:

  • Tier 1: MCQ-type objective test
  • Tier 2: Descriptive test (essay + précis)
  • Tier 3: Personal interview

General Awareness (20 Marks)

General Awareness is a combination of GK, current affairs, and your general knowledge.

  • Current affairs (latest 6 months)
  • Indian History & National Movement
  • Geography of India
  • Indian Constitution
  • Indian Economy
  • Budget
  • Government schemes & policies
  • Awards, Books, and Authors (focus on the latest)
  • Sports & Important Days (focus on latest)
  • Inventions & Discoveries
  • International Summits and Events

Quantitative Aptitude (20 Marks)

Quantitative Aptitude is important to understand your calculation skills and speed. You may feel the questions are basic, but scoring. You jut need proper practice. 

  • Number System, LCM & HCF
  • Simplification & Approximation
  • Percentages, Profit & Loss
  • Simple & Compound Interest
  • Averages, Ratios & Proportion
  • Time, Speed & Distance
  • Time & Work, Mensuration
  • Data Interpretation (Tables, Pie Charts, Bar Graphs)

Logical or Analytical Ability (20 Marks)

  • Series (Letter & Number based)
  • Coding-Decoding
  • Blood Relations
  • Direction Sense Test
  • Venn Diagrams
  • Syllogism
  • Order & Ranking
  • Classification & Analogies
  • Puzzle Tests & Statement–Assumption
  • Missing Characters

English Language (20 Marks)

The English language is one of the important subjects for this exam. Your grammatical and communication skills are tested here.

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Fill in the Blanks & Cloze Test
  • Error Detection & Sentence Correction
  • Synonyms & Antonyms
  • Para Jumbles
  • One-word Substitution
  • Spelling Correction
  • Grammaratical practice – 25 minutes
  • Writing practice – 40 minutes
  • Reading newspapers – 25 minutes

General Studies (20 Marks)

General Studies is a combination of humanities and general knowledge. Your static and conceptual knowledge is very important for this section.

  • Indian Polity & Constitution
  • Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology – basics)
  • Geography (Rivers, Soil, Climate)
  • Economic Terminologies
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Space Programs & Defence Exercises
  • Total Marks: 50
  • Duration: 60 Minutes
  • Type: Descriptive (Pen & Paper Mode)
